Popi

Sofia 'Popi' Speratti from Argentina has a history as a rhythmic gymnast. She started training at the age of 3 and was already part of the Argentina national team at the age of 10. With this she sparkled at various international competitions and World Cups. When she ended her sports career, she devoted herself to the circus arts. Her first experience was as a contortionist in a traditional circus in 2011. As she continued to grow as an artist, she learned and developed new disciplines. She did her education through experience.

In 2017 she got her first international contract in Cirque Starlight (Switzerland) and after that her dream of working all over the world came true.

Her main disciplines are handbalancing with balls, hula hoop and acrodance. She has a strong sense of the artistic that is now reflected in her acts.

An extroverted performer with a strong stage presence who brings creative energy into her art.

Acrobatics, contortion, hula hoop and hand balancing with balls full of humor and irony.

Simulating a pretentious traditional show, an invisible curtain cuts the scene between the screenplay and the backstage, obscuring the perspective opens from what can be seen in the backstage. The performer shows her superiority and agility to the audience to boost her ego.

But what happens behind the scenes?

There that same ego is overthrown by fatigue, insecurities, fears, obsessions and traumas.
